Birthday Calendar DIY

At the beginning of the year, I always set up a new journal with events going on throughout the year, and many other people use a calendar but I’m not a huge fan, although I relised that I had nowhere to keep track of birthdays throughout the year so hello hanging birthday calendar! I’ve been wanting to make this one for so long and although a little time ocnsuming, it was nowhere near as difficult as I thought it would be! Check out my tutorial video below and let me know what you guys think down in the comments!

Tabletop S’mores Pot DIY

It’s that time of year again! The time where we’re all clinging onto summer but it’s way too cold for a BBQ so the next best thing to do in Autumn? A bonfire with friends or family, and of course you can’t forget the s’mores! With that in mind, I have a super quick DIY for you, making s’mores and marshmallow toasting a lot safer at home and without the huge open fire, all made in less than 10 minutes, with materials you’re likely to have in your home already! Check it out below.

Twine Container DIY

So I wanted to look into some ‘Home Decor’ DIY ideas and I’m starting off with some little storage pots! These are so cute and fit in with any home as they’re so simple, they’re slightly time consuming but super easy to make! Check out the video below and if you’d like written instructions, scroll down under the video!

Twine Container Instructions –

You Will Need:

  • Empty pots or containers (yoghurt pots/ coffee cans/ empty bottles/ cardboard boxes)
  • All purpose glue/ hot glue gun
  • Twine
  • Ribbon/ washi tape (optional)

How To:

  1. Before starting, make sure the pots used are clean and dry
  2. Begin by adding a blob of glue unter to rim of your container and sticking down the end of the twine
  3. From here, all there is to do is wrap the twine tightly around your container to make sure you don’t create any gaps, gluing along as you go
  4. Once you get to the bottom, cut the twine and stick, let the glue dry if you need to
  5. After this, tie/ stick ribbon around the top if you want, I actually used a white washi tape around the top of a bottle for a vase

That’s all there is to it guys! Yes it is time consuming due to wrapping the whole container in twine or rope but it’s definitely worth it and as you can tell, super easy to do. I hope you guys liked this one and I’d love to see what you think and if you decide to make them yourself!

Confetti Heart Mug DIY

Hey guys I have a super cute DIY for you today! Just in time for Valentine’s Day I’ve made confetti heart mugs, super easy to do and such a cute effect and I will definitely be keeping them out on show, and they work great as presents for your favourite couple too! There’s a link to the video below and instructions below too, have a go and let me know how they turn out!

You Will Need:

  • Plain white mugs
  • Ceramic pens (Sharpie/ permenant markers will work too)
  • Heart template

To Make:

  1. Make sure your mugs are clean and dry.
  2. Print out a heart template, making sure the size is right, one half of the heart should be the shape/ size of the handle of the mug.
  3. Using tape, stick one half of the heart over the handle and fold out the other half, sticking it to the mug.
  4. Take whatever colours you want (in my tutorial I use a pink and red colour scheme and also used a blue colour scheme for a 2nd mug.
  5. Start creating dots around the heart template, making the dots closer together towards the heart, and spacing them out the further away from the mug you get.
  6. Make sure to do the same on the handle of the mug, as well as on the side of the handle.
  7. Take your heart template off to show a plain white heart shaped by your dot/ confetti art.
  8. On the opposite side of the mug, stick down your heart template again and go through the same process with dotting around the heart (this is completely optional if you only want one heart on your handle).
  9. Considering that I used ceramic pens, the instructions were to let the pen dry for 15 minutes and preheat the oven to 160 degrees, the mugs are then ‘baked’ for 25 minutes in order to cure, after this time turn the oven off and leave the mugs in the oven to cool completely. (If you are using any other type of pens like sharpies, please check how to cure your mugs to be wash safe).

That’s all there is to it! Apart from the curing process, these took me maybe 15-20 minutes to make at most, you can find plain mugs in any local supermarket, I actually found mine in Wilkos! Despite curing the mugs, do make sure that you always wash these by hand! Apart from that, enjoy your new confetti heart mugs or wrap them up as a gift for your favourite person!

Let me know what you guys think and if you try them out yourself, I would love to see them! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Cute Face Planters DIY

Hey guys, I’ve got a new, super cute DIY for you!

These are my newest addition to my little desk and I just HAD to share them with you! This is one of the easiest DIYs I’ve done and I can’t get over how cute they are!

Follow the link below for a video tutorial or scroll down for instructions – https://youtu.be/p3No8z_Cn3s

Cute Face Planters DIY

You Will Need:

  • Plain plant pots
  • White paint (acrylic or spray paint is best)
  • Pencil
  • Black permanent marker
  • Coloured permanent markers

How To:

  1. Take your plain plant pots and paint white, you may need a few coats of paint. I decided that white would work best as a base colour but you can always do a different colour!
  2. Let paint dry fully before taking a pencil and sketching out the face you want. As you can see, I’ve done a few different facial expressions for a bit of variety. Draw the eyes just under the rim of the plant pot, and a cute smile underneath.
  3. Then, take your black marker and trace over the pencil lines. Again, you can use a different colour but I felt that black was best to make it stand out.
  4. After this, I used a pale pink pen to draw some rosy cheeks, I did this in small circles just under the outside of each eye.
  5. Lastly, take another pen of your desired colour and draw vertical lines all the way around the rim. This step is completely optional but I thought it just added a little bit more personality and colour.

And that’s all there is to it! I told you it was easy! I have actually used fake plants for these as it’s just easier but of course you can use your green thumb and use real plants too!

These will be keeping me company on my desk and I also have some going to one of my best friends, who is starting as a new teacher and begged for one for her new classroom!

I hope you guys liked this tutorial, leave a comment below about what you think and I’d love to see your version of them if you give them a go! Enjoy guys!
